Dr. Michael Acurio Esteemed Member of Professional Organizations

A Candidate Member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Michael Curio also maintains his membership in the Louisiana State Medical Society, the Shreveport Medical Society and the Southern Medical Association.

Dr. Michael Acurio has been dedicated to his continued professional development in medicine throughout his career.His collaborative medical research with trusted colleagues has resulted in a variety of scientific papers and abstracts.Dr. Michael Acurio has presented research results and papers on a continuous basis on a wide variety of medical issues in his career.Acurio presented his findings on Cubital Tunnel Syndrome at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina in 1988.

He also made a presentation on Peroneal Spastic Flatfoot at Shriners Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina in that same year.In 1989, Acurio made a presentation regarding Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocations at Roper Hospital in Charleston, closely followed in July of that year by his talk on Pilon Fractures.Roper Hospital was also the venue for his presentations on Osteochondral Fractures of the Talus and Deep Venous Thrombosis in that same year. Dr Michael Acurio had presented information on Rheumatoid Hand Deformities at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1990 and gave talks on Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency in 1990 and Patella-Femoral Joint Disorders in 1991 at Shriners Hospital.
